Hi everyone. I am from the USA and am thinking of studying in the UK for a while. If I'm lucky....maybe even moving there! haha
I know Emma is from Oxfordshire...but can you guys just let me know what life is like in London and what kind of transition it would be?
Sorry if this thread seems kinda dumb but I would just like to know to get some kind of idea.
Thank youuuu.

I'm going to move this to the other General Board. This General Board is for mainly Emma-related, HP-related, etc, things. The other is more centered on our members.

Well London is a beautiful city but EXTREMELY busy so if you come from a cityany smaller than chicago or boston I guess it can be pretty overwhelming at first, it's also considerably more expensive than the USA (and more expensive than most if not all European countries).
As for the people there... well it all depends on who you meet, usually foreign students are much more open than english people in general who can seem rather cold and standoffish at first. I must say... I was in London for two weeks and I can say I honestly love the hustle and bustle but I don't think I'd personally be able to focus on only one thing at a time ;D
Good Luck!

Yeah, I'm English although I'm not from London. The English accent, particularly in London can seem a bit cold and fake when you hear it but that's not how the people are. It's just our nasally accents. London is amazing although is probably the most expensive place I've been in my life. I'm not poor but I couldn't afford to live there. For example, my house costs around £650,000 but if it was located in London it would cost about £1.5 million. Anyway, aside from the price I love London. It's very exciting and glamorous in parts. Chelsea in West London is the nicest place I've ever been (unfortunately, it is also one of the poshest and expensivest places in Europe). I would love to live in London and that's what I plan to do when I go to uni. I guess moving from USA to London is kind of like moving from UK to NYC. The traffic is bad though and it's very busy. I'm sure you'd love it.
