No one forced her to be an actress, this comes with the job. She'll have to learn to deal with it. It's a cruel world, and just because she has millions of pounds doesn't make her special.

Yeah but Lynds, they probably have some kind of contract with WB about pictures (notice how we have hardly any candids of the HP cast and yet we have hundreds of American actresses?). Plus, I don't think you'd like very much if your personal photos, however innocent they may be, were being spread all over the 'net.

*nods* Yeah, I mean, I come from both sides. There's definitely that strong curiosity in seeing what Emma and her friends are like and thinking "oh, it's no big deal, they're just pictures", but c'mon, your privacy is already compromised so much when you become famous - and it's worse than a paparazzi picture because these are very personal, they were taken by friends with friends FOR friends. It's not just her on the street or anything. She wasn't prepared for these to be released to the public.
Either way, it's illegal... *shakes head*

If I was famous, I wouldn't care, no one would be walking up to me and basically breaking my arm to get me to sign a contract. It comes with the job, seriously other actresses and actors get much worse.

I haven't been here in a while and i just read about this. I think it's voyeristic looking at someone's personal photos without their permission. It doesn't matter that Emma is famous, anybody famous or not would be creeped out if personal photos of them circulated the Internet for any stranger to see, not only because of the nature of the photos but expecially because so called friends were probably involved in this. And i think that's the worst part. But i guess when you're famous you have to make peace with the fact that things like this might happen eventually...

Lyndsey is right. Nobody MADE Emma do what she is. This kind of a thing is just expected. If she doesn't want people to go snooping, she needs to just get out of show biz. It's going to happen, and if you can't accept that and deal with it you shouldn't put yourself in the spotlight. I'm not saying it's alright, I'm just saying it happens. She just shouldn't be doing what she's doing if she can't deal with it.
Also, there is no contract with WB about their own personal pictures. They don't control aspects like that. They really don't care how many private pictures Emma and all of the cast throw aruond as long as they aren't on set, in costume, or giving anything away.

Nicely said Sarah Also they aren't in the press as much because they don't promote themselves like Paris Hilton or Sienna Miller.

I don't think Emma every voiced her not being able "to deal" with it. I think the big ado comes from her fans. So I still think that it shows a good kind of restraint for mods to NOT show her friends' pictures on their sites. And since when does it come with the job to have your friends' privacy invaded? That's just plain wrong, if you ask me. And just cuz it happens to the "all publicity is good publicity" american starlettes, doesn't make it right.

It comes with the job, do you not look at news stands magazines featuring tons of photos like these are everywhere. I don't think some of you have seriously thought about what it means to be a popular actress.
If Emma doesn't want that to happen she should do as Sarah has said. There has and will always be people that want to knock people down a few pegs so they're more human. Deal with it, thats the industry.

And I haven't said it was right. I only said it comes with the job. It always does. As for her friends, that's the risk that you take being friends with a celebrity, even if you don't look at them as such. It's just something you need to understand. I myself want to get into that industry. It comes with it, if you're that popular. It's wrong, yes, but it's going to happen. It comes with it. It's a fact of life, and it's been like that since being famous ever started happening.

thank you Sarah... and it's not always wrong, because it's refreshing to see people you admire as just a regular person... its just proof that they're just like you.

I want to get into that industry as well, BUT there IS a difference between the pictures in magazines and Emma's. Emma's were taken at school and at a friend's house. INSIDE a friend's house. It's like when Jennifer Aniston sued some tabloid for printing topless photos of her sunbathing in her backyard - things that go on in or around your house is private and unless invited, no one has the right to see them. The pictures in magazines are taken at stores, walking down the street, onset. It's just not right to show personal pictures like that unless permission was granted by Emma herself. It's a huge invasion of her privacy.

So before we all start a brawl in the heat debate, let me make it clear that I'm not trying to put words in anyone's mouth... nor am I personally attacking anyone. Just stating my opinion.

That would stink so bad to have embarrasing pictures of me out in the open. I have some that I would NEVER show others.
